A number of BENK PROJECTS OCE colleagues were given the opportunity to spend an afternoon watching the Neste Terminal Rotterdam Expansion project, which was recently completed. Our colleagues Steffen Walgien and Nick Tolenaar, both passionate project managers, showed us around the site.
Steffen and Nick have dedicated two years to the expansion of Neste's terminal in Vlaardingen. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, they contributed to doubling Neste's terminal capacity in the Netherlands by building as many as 15 new tanks. This has led to a strengthening of Neste's growth strategy in the field of sustainable resource supply. Neste is the world's largest producer of renewable diesel and sustainable jet fuel and is also developing chemical recycling to combat the challenge of plastic waste.
For BENK PROJECTS OCE, this afternoon was a valuable experience. Indeed, the team had the opportunity to see the project up close and get a better understanding of the work taking place there. This contributed not only to our expertise in the oil & gas industry, but also to our understanding of the technical aspects of such projects. We learned how important it is to be well informed about the latest developments in this industry and how we can best use our knowledge and experience to better engage in level discussions with our employees who are in the field every day.
In short, this afternoon at Neste's NETR Expansion Project was not only educational, but also inspiring and fun!
We would like to thank our colleagues Steffen Walgien and Nick Tolenaar for their efforts and wish them all the best with their next project at Neste.
