LBC Tank Terminals Expansion Tank Terminal Rainbow I & II & III

The first project included a tripling of the capacity of the Botlek-Rotterdam terminal, which became 250,000m³ upon completion and included a new jetty.
All new tanks, many of which are stainless steel, are equipped to store a wide range of liquid chemicals including vapor handling and heating infrastructure. LBC also invested in improving and expanding the existing tank truck and rail loading infrastructure.

The project Rainbow II  was completed in 2023. This project included a capacity expansion of 372,000m³.

We are currently preparing for the Rainbow III project.

The Rainbow III project involves the new construction of 3 tank pits with a total of 36 tanks, a combined rail and truck station with 6 positions, a new track and associated pipelines and pipe bridges whose completion is scheduled for the end of 2025. Subsequently Rainbow IV and V will be started up where existing tanks will be removed and replaced by new customer specific tanks.

Personal reference

Raoul Cootjans

project manager at LBC Tank Terminals

From 2015 to 2019, I served as project manager of the Rainbow I project. As project manager, I was responsible for completing the project on time and within budget. BENK PROJECTS is a regular supplier of LBC and there was a click between me and our contact person right from the first moment Jeroen.
This was because of the transparency in communication. Both in good times and bad times, communication was always open and honest.
Throughout the four years the project lasted, I had the same contact person, something that I personally found very pleasant. Every candidate who was deployed with us on the project was of such high quality that I could fully rely on BENK PROJECTS to fill all positions.

Hans Kleinbloessem

project manager at BENK PROJECTS

My role in the rainbow project is project manager for all installations in the field of electrical engineering, instrumentation and automation. I have a focus on execution and am also active within maintenance.
I have been working for BENK PROJECTS since 2017. After my previous employer went bankrupt, I was recommended by LBC and was able to sign my permanent contract, which I am very happy about. BENK PROJECTS has provided excellent input to meet my needs! It is a pleasant cooperation in which honesty, straightforwardness and putting my money where my mouth is are of paramount importance. As far as I am concerned, the cooperation between me and BENK PROJECTS will continue until my retirement!
